Can I run a supercharged engine without the supercharger working?

My car is making a screeching noise. I changed both idler pulleys (smooth
tension pulley and grooved alignment), but the noise persists. When I
removed the belt that drives the supercharger the noise went away and the
car seems to run okay, with reduced power. Will this cause a problem? I really
cannot afford to put more money into this vehicle right now.

Someone has probably failed to put the special oil in the front snout of the supercharger. There are bearing in there that need oil, the supercharger is probably ok. There are videos online that show you how to take it apart and replace the bearing....there are also rebuilt units available and if you have basic tool you can replace/rebuilt the front/snout of the supercharger
