Car won't start just clicks once

Asked by DominiqueCash Nov 15, 2016 at 03:15 PM about the 2002 Buick Regal LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Buick regal ls, when I try to
start it, it just clicks once, the lights on
dashboard go off and headlights too, as
soon as I let go everything comes back on,
headlights are bright again, I thought it was
the starter and battery, took both off and
took it to autozone they said starter is good
and I took battery and put it on another car
and it starts right up, I though Mabey it was
corroded so I bought a wire brush and
cleaned both, still just clicks once, help me
please.

check battery voltage, should be 12.4vdc. If battery is good and still won't turn over, check all battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If all cables are ok, check for voltage at the starter solenoid small terminal. If voltage is present and still no crank, replace starter

Some one toke out yhe battery cables now i have one + cable from the box and two black ones togather it wont do anything please help. 2002 buick regale
