Brake sensor that controls cruise

My car will not stay on cruise while
driving intermittent, the cruise will
resume on it’s own, brake light will
come on when parked and drain
battery.  I’ve read there is a sensor
that controls this.  Where is that
located?  I have a new battery in my
car!

The cruise control automatically cancels when you step on the brake pedal. This activates the brake lights and cancels the cruise control. Since the brake lights are coming on when nobody is pressing the pedal the brake light switch is bad. This is also why the cruise control keeps canceling on it's own. The system thinks someone is pressing the brake pedal when they're not. Hope that helps! Jim
