Where exactly is the heater core on the
inside

Look for the heater hoses under the hood. The core will be on the other side of the firewall hooked up to those hoses. Hint - on the passenger side of your vehicle.

Under the dash. Or. Behind it? Is dash disassasmbly required?

Thanks so much you all have been very helpful. I am old school and you use to be able to pull the firewall blanket down and whala it was there in plain view
