My 1997 Chevy Blazer still won't start after I replaced the fuel pump
I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer. The other day the car
would crack but won't turn over also the fuel gauge
stop working and I had no fuel pressure. I replaced
the fuel pump and the fuel filter. The car has fuel
pressure and the gauge works but it still won't
start. I sound a little better but it is not turning over.
What do I do next???
Make sure you have spark. If so then you need to do a fuel bleed down test. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader Valve on top of the intake. Fuel pressure should be 56 to 63 lbs. Build up the fuel pressure on the gauge, then turn the key off. Watch the gauge, pressure should not drop more the 5 lbs. in 3 min. If it does then the spider injection assembly would need replacing.
Yes, those spider injector assemblies are notorious for failure. If it turns out to be that, specify that you want the new design when buying the replacement assembly. Also, don't replace individual injectors. Replace the whole thing so it doesn't give you trouble again. HTH. -Jim
I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and I got 55 lbs. When I turned the key off it did not drop. I have spark I think. I got a spark tester and lit up when I turn the car on. I know I'm do to changin the spark plugs. I don't know what to do now
Would the check engine light be on when this started? Sounds like the fuel pressure is ok. and does not bleed down, so fuel should not be the issue. Try spraying some starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it fires up. If it does not fire up then it is an electrical issue. Also it would be best to take a look at the spark plugs, see if there is any center electrode left.
I did spray some starting fluid and it did start but cut off when it burn out
Ok, it is not turning over? or is it turning over but not starting? Need to be on the same page.
Then if it started with the starting fluid, there is a fuel issue going on yet. 55 lbs. fuel pressure is low but it should start. You may not be getting an injector pulse. Make sure your getting power to the fuel injectors.
A 12 volt test light, or a digital multi meter on the injector connection, or wire. You would need someone to turn the vehicle over to test.
Check your fuses also.
I'm not sure where the injector connection is. I'm still learning. Your helping me a lot.
Also my fuses are good. How would I know my relay is bad?

Your fuel pump relay would not be bad since you had checked 55 lbs. fuel pressure, so the fuel pump is working. Here is a video on how to test for fuel injector pulse.
