Where does spare tire go with 1999 V70 Cross Country with third row seat?

Asked by JGT Oct 08, 2008 at 07:36 PM about the 1999 Volvo V70 XC Turbo AWD

Question type: General

I just got a 1999 V70 Cross Country, and bought a used third row seat to install. Problem is that the spare tire (which is not full size) no longer fits in the wheel well -- is it supposed to go vertically off to the side?  Or, am I supposed to get an even smaller spare?   Help!

If it's like the standard Volvo V70 it'll go underneath where the rear facing kids put ther feet. The trird row of seats lift up from the flat floor leaving some foot room & the spare is under that. the wheel might well be a space-saver, though...

Thanks. Before we got the third row seat, the spare tire was where you describe. But, the seat belt bracket that screws into that area now prevents our spare tire from fitting in that space. Is anyone out there who has a 1999 V70 Cross Country with a third row seat? If so, where is your spare? Thanks again.
