I have a 1998 Volvo b5254t engine, started with just a little oil showing up in coolant, continues to get worse, car runs great, good power, has 96K orig miles.
what is the chances it being a head gasket instead of cracked head or block,
or could it be turbo problem?

If it's oil in the coolant it could be the oil cooler in the radiator leaking.

Thanks, is there a way of checking before going to the expense of changing it out. This is a very nice car, this appears to be the only problem. I just don't want to sink hundreds of dollars into it if its something in the motor that will end up costing me thousands.
It can be pressure tested. That way you can eliminate the easier fix. If the oil cooler checks out okay, then you'll have to look at the head gasket or turbo as the source for the oil leak.
