1998 Chevy Tracker Won't Start

Asked by Rick Sep 04, 2018 at 12:49 AM about the 1998 Chevrolet Tracker 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The cam shafts chain broke so the engine stopped running. Everything was fine up to that point. I replaced the chain and lined up all the timing marks with the number one cylinder at TDC but now the engine won't start. Any suggestions?

Try checking the rotor to see if it is sending spark to the plugs properly as it could possibly be sending it down instead of where it should be sending ig

Is there enough tension on the timing chain? if not, then its slacking or lack of tension will alter, (retard), the timing and the engine will not start.
