AC blows hot air and the ac compressor clutch keeps on and off every 5 or 6 seconds. What can be the cause of this?

Low on freon add freon until compressor clutch stays on.

@firebird338, thanks for the answer. I added not even 2-12oz cans this morning when the annoying sound of clutch on-off disappeared, and the AC is COOL. I will go back to the mechanics who has told me that I have a bad compressor. Just to show him this. Thanks again. It is very helpful.
