Cranks but no start

Hi...my problem is this...i've pulled the distributor
cable from the distributor or coil in order to shut
off the engine because i got locked out while
engine still running...well when igot the door to
open i switch off the key...put on the cable again
and battery too...but when i start the car only
cranks but no start...plis Car Gurus help me

Probably blew the ignition control module. Have the coil checked also.
