Car stalling out and taking forever to stay cranked .

Asked by Tammy Feb 23, 2018 at 10:45 PM about the 1991 Volvo 240 SE Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I believe the fuel filter is clogged and
needs changed. Wondering exactly
where it is on this model?

It's been forever,. but know there are two pumps in the Volvo, one is in the tank and that's the one that noone ever thinks about. You'll need a special tool or some serious imagination to open the tank, but it's an easy job once that's done. The fuel filter itself is under the car, it's about the size of a large soup can. It does have a directionality to it... don't put it on backwards!
