buying a used nissan sentra

Asked by sab Mar 04, 2011 at 05:09 PM about the 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hello,

I am thinking about purchasing a used 2006 nissan sentra as it is really economical car. The ones I find listed for sale are usually close to 100K miles.

I wanted to know how durable is the sentra engine. I know that japanese cars usually have reliable engines and do not give problems even beyond 150K miles. Is that the case for Sentra as well ?

It would be great to hear some of your views/experiences. Thanks

it appears as though they must be highway miles by looking at the year model. This is a plus. They can go past 300K. Please award points if this helps !

I have several cars and trucks, one of them is a 1997 Nissan Sentra. I have had it for many years now. It is driven often. I only have 142,000 miles now, but it is still going. I expect to get many, many more miles. Nissan makes good Sentras. I had a brand new one years ago and it was a great car for me.
