With vehicle stopped, shift back into 2wd. YOU MUST REVERSE VEHICLE 15 feet to disengage 4wd!

yeah tried that. Turns out I'm just an idiot I guess. The vehicle not only has to be stopped, it MUST be in neutral. That's all it took.

Dont forget you have to push the ball of the stick shift handle strait down before you can push it forward or backward into 2 wheel drive. I have been guilty of not doing this myself and thought my transmission was stuck in 4x4 but i just needed to push down first

I'm so mechanically hopeless when it comes to vehicles. The answer by anonymous 11 years ago helped me today as it disengaged per his direction. thank you.

It seems that Nissan still hasn"t fix this disengaging problem from 4wd or 4low to 2 wd in their 2019 Frontiers. My truck would not disengage. Had to call AAA. They disengaged the 4lo with a different procedure. Told them that procedure was not in the Manuel. They agreed. Told me it is a factory defect and should take truck back to to Nissan asap. I am an older woman. Shouldn't have be changing the TRANSFER CONTROL DEVICE myself!
