Do you have a program on the dash readout that you can roll thorough? One of the programs on there I think has a off on switch for the day time running lights. Why do you want them off? I think it is one of the best safety fetchers after the seat belts and collapsible steering wheel put on cars.

Here's a good one. I own a 99, not sure if it's the same. I do this to mine. Engage the emergency brake just a bit. There is a switch on the emergency brake that disables the lights. Do this with the ignition off.
