Truck goes into neutral on its own

Asked by Ramsey Nov 29, 2016 at 12:47 PM about the 1994 Mazda B-Series B4000 LE Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck goes into neutral when I hit the
brakes. And slaps into gear real hard when
I press on the gas. It makes me hit about
4K rpm before it will shift into the next
gear. It's an auto. What should I do? I
check the tran fluid and it's at good level.

Sounds like you need a transmission rebuilt. you might have a bad trans pump or weak/bad solenoids or bands. You might also have a bad torque converter. Find a reputable transmission shop and get them to diagnose the problem.
