i have an 06 vw taureg, im having major headlight issues. the inside bulb is a regular h7 bulb, the outside bulb is a HID even though specs say it should be an h9 bulb. can i change out connector?

can i change out the connector in  my headl;ight from the hid connector back
to a regular h9 bulb connector and install a regular bulb? right now i have no
lights because the hids are blowing fuses left and right like immediately when
you tyurn the headlights on. i have no daytime running lights, only one light
even turns on, then thed other light only comes on whgen you pull back on
the switch to flash someone, but it doiesnt coime on when yiu turn oin the
brights. makes no sense

You have a short somewhere. Was any repair performed before this started happening? Was it in an accident? Only a guess but no matter what bulbs you use the wire will be shorted. Can you disconnect both headlight assemblies and plug them in 1 at a time to see if 1 works without blowing? The central electronic control module powers the headlights so it's between that and the lights.
