i discover that my touareg 2004 v6 only selects gear 1,2,3and 4 but does not select gear 5 and 6. what could be the possible cause

did you tested it on an open road??? is it a manual or auto transmission? is it on tiptronic mode???

i tested it in an open road. its an automatic transmission. but i dont know wat is tiprotonic mode

In some vehicles if you select a gear and the requirements for that gear are not met the ecu returns to the lowest gear, maybe your speed was too low or something like that. Check carefully first for every gear and if not read the codes to see what is wrong and let me know. With some scanner y

You can check the status of the transmission to see what gear is engaged
