I just replaced my battery a month ago but recently my car just stop running, it makes a noise on the right side of the car like something is running( electrical) and shouldnt like the mirror it sounds like it trying to adjust

Just happen to me,VW had to erase the memory and reinstall it. 220 bucks.

Don't buy a new battery!!!! I did just this and yet, I need a jump start, almost every day!!!! Like the previous poster, I here noises from the passenger side, like something is being automatically adjust. Sometimes rattling noises as well. WTH!!! I make sure all lights , radio is off, before removing key. Then I wait at least, 2 minutes, after locking up, to make sure no lights or even the radio mysteriously comes back on. Like most of you, I DREAD, taking my Touareg, to the rip off dealership. Don't trust those bastards, Period!! I am determined to fix this and other issues on my own, or with the help of a trusted mechanic. Fyi...if ever, you have the battery replaced, and your radio has no sound. ..do not run to a mechanic, or the dealer!!! Save your money and sanity, by removing fuse #12 ( passenger side ) pull out for 1minute. Before replacing the fuse back in its slot, turn the ignition key on ( to the right) NO NEED TO TURN THE ENGINE ON OR OVER. After turning the key to right, replace fuse back into slot. Boom!!! You've got sound!! OK it was the greatest feeling to know how much money I saved. 300.00!!!! Hope this helps someone out there!!

Hi, we have a 2012 Treg and although I love this car I hate the electrics. electronics as we are having one prob after the other. Currently we have been encountering flat batteries, after VW did a current draw down test it was found C51 fuse was still alive when car was asleep so 1 amp draw was causing problem. To replace and fit new radio $2994.75.....that's unrealistic. Radio still works, can change channels, nav still tracks, accepts commands, just no volume. I can't beleive that they dont have a division that can repair these modules

Just pull the fuse and check it to see if it is blown...usually blows at the bend, but not always... 10 amp...will cost you about 50 cents per fuse. Missouri Farmer and multiple VWBenz/BMW owner.. Farmers learn to do their own maint.

Check the mirror heat switch. If it is kept to the heat position, that could be your battery drain. I just had a new battery put in my Tiguan I found this answer looking at others who had this problem too.

My 2004 4.2 liter Touareg battery was constantly draining, as in dead. I had a clicking noise from under the driver dash, over the pedals. There is a floor light there that was clicking on and off, sounding like a blinker some people mentioned. As many people have mentioned on various sites, there are issues with keyless entry. In my case, only one of the buttons has worked for the last several years so I have not paid much attention to this. However, once I figured out what the clicking noise was and saw it was related to a cabin light, I started inspecting the keyless door buttons. All of them used to be sealed with rubber. Over time the rubber real cracked and wore away so is my case it was easy to peel back the button a little and look inside. The exterior button has 4 prongs which hold a square button housing which is what is pushed and makes contact with the circuit when depressing the exterior door button. Note: there is a spring attached to the contact button so don't pull too hard. You might also tear off the remaining rubber seal holding the exterior button onto the door, (as I did). Once the exterior button cracks, water can get into the buttons and corrode the contacts. Three of my door handle buttons were not corroded, one of those is the functioning one. The driver door was corroded and this turns out to be the issue. The small housing with the contact button has 4 circuits that connect the button to the whatever it is that regulates the keyless entry. Two of the button housing circuits had completely corroded and disconnected from the base. There was green corrosion all over the base of the button housing and the base it is connected to. that corrosion was causing the keyless system to constantly turn on and off, the foot light on the driver side clicking on and off, they system trying to arm and disarm, lock and unlock the doors. Not noticeable all the time. Once cleaned up, corrosion removed with liquid wrench silicon spray, the issue stopped. Sorry for my lack of terminology for the various components, not my gig. I have uploaded a couple pictures of the parts. Did not think to take a picture of the base pre cleaning, but you will get the idea. Hope this helps someone and thanks to all who take the time to do these posts.
