Is a slow selling car (as advised by Car Gurus) necessarily a bad thing?

Asked by Jilliano Aug 20, 2014 at 12:03 AM about the 2006 Volkswagen Passat 2.0T

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Just committed to buy a nice 2006 VW Passat. But on here it says that the car has been
on here over 100 days. That's scaring me a bit,  can't figure out why as I think it seems to
be a very nice car. Someone please offer advice! The dealer says it's been on the lot 60
days? This dealer also has a very good reputation, and sells many Passats.

It may be priced too high or even have a dirty caxfax. It may have been on the lot under repair and just listed for the last 60 days. You could always pay to have the car checked out by an independent mechanic before you purchase, it could save a you $$$ in the long run.

Sometimes a good car is over looked. If your happy with the deal and the car so be it.
