2003 VW passat V6 does turned off while driving

Asked by May 15, 2018 at 10:28 PM about the 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving home one day and I put my
foot on the gas to pull out a lot and my car
just died. There was a clicking sound my
car had been making for a while now. I
went to a shop about 2 weeks prior to the
incident to get my spark plug wires done
and gaskets cleaned, also I got a full
diagnostic that day and was told my
engine ran just fine. They couldn’t find the
issue with the clicking while turned on. I
hate spending money on things I can do
myself so I’m not trying to take it to VW
just to pay $100 So they can MAYBE tell
me what the problem is then charge and
em and a leg to fix it. Any thoughts?

Does it run now?

No. It cranks when I attempt to start it. Also the camshaft censor was bad and I replaced it, and after I replaced it, the code for the camshaft kept coming up. This was also prior to the incident.
