2003 vW passat 1.8 turbo how to check timing and valves

Asked by krysfarias Jan 11, 2017 at 01:36 AM about the 2003 Volkswagen Passat GL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

replaced timing belt now car misfires when it starts and I believe the valves
in the cylinder head are damaged but I need to check before I would like a
second opinion before looking for a new engine
Also is it true that there could be possibly 1.8 turbo engine unlimited
mileage warranty on the 1997 through 2004 if so where do I go to speak to
somebody about that.

Just do a compression test, if you have damage, bent valve the compression will be low or at 0. I never heard of a unlimited warranty for any engine.
