Radio stuck in 'phone' mode

I have an 02 VW Passat with standard radio. For weeks all the radio screen says is
phone ( i disconnected the in car phone months ago). Anyone know how I can get it off
this screen. I have the code but can't get into safe mode to enter it. TIA

Try unplugging the radio fuse for a few min and plug back ln .
