99 vw passat 1.8t

Does anyone know what would make my car make
weird noises at low rpm's then one i get the 4th it
sounded like a belt was shreading aprt then sount
like it locked up like maybe the belt got tangled up.
Butt the cath is my altinator velts fine witch i
figured that was the problem but when i turned it
over it sount like it wasnt trying to fire so i pulled
timing cover an timing belts little loos but not
broke from what ibcan see so far oh an when i
turned the car over the alt belt would turn over with
it but timing belt would not turn over with it  any
ideas?

something broke and your going to need to have it torn apart to find out. front end needs to be backed off and the belts and pulleys need to be removed and have the full timing system inspected.
