Asked by GuruD4KSJ Aug 03, 2017 at 12:19 PM about the 2002 Volkswagen Beetle GL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 VW beetle is shifting hard from park to drive and
reverse is not working most of the time. Old car so really don't
want to spend a ton of money on it. does it make sense to
replace the transmission fluid as to my knowlege we have
never done this since we purchased this car since 2009.
seeand filter at this point?

It's not a high ticket repair to do and should be done anyway. Make sure you have a complete flush of all the fluid and change the filter if there is one...
