VW Jetta 2 cream color mix in water expansion vessel. How does transmission fluid mix with coolant water?
Make: VW Jetta 2, 1.6L, AUTO
Problem: Found Cream color mix in coolant water expansion vessel.
Question: How does automatic transmission fluid mix with coolant water?
Why do u think it's trans fluid...because more than likely it could be oil from the engine. The only place transmission fluid and coolant are in proximity to each other is in the radiator // however the radiator pressure is much higher than the oil in the trans so the coolant would migrate into the trans fluid (be sure to check the trans fluid ) The engine oil pressure is much higher than the coolant so// that may be what you are seeing ... if you check you oil you may see/smell something unusual, Signs of a blown head gasket
Dear TOM, Blown Head Gasket not suspected because: 1 NO trace of water found in Engine Oil Dipstick and, the car starts and runs fairly normal except for : 1.1 High Temp Alarm, and 1.2 STOP warning Alarm 2. The car takeoffs with a thud upon acceleration from stop to motion in DRIVE(D) auto mode Thank you for your prompt response. LOGAN
