Rear window and door locks

Asked by LordGunner Sep 23, 2015 at 01:03 PM about the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I had put all my windows down using the
key method of holding the key in the unlock
position on the door so it lowers all the
windows at the same time.  My battery died
since then and when I went to jump it the
driver side rear window won't work and
when I tried to use the key in the driver door
to roll up all the windows the only one it rolls
up is the driver window and only locks the
driver door as well.  All the windows work
from the control on the inside of the door
except that one window.  Also all the doors
locks from the lock button on the inside.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

first your windows are controlled by computer. after dead battery you must re-teach the windows. so disconnect battery and wait as long as possible an hour would be nice. next reconnect battery get in the car close the door roll window all the way up stop reapply up switch for 1 sec. now do the same in the down position. if this works for you you may need to repeat on all windows. gota love vw
