Clutch?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought this car n when I put it into first gear it took
a while for it to accelerate with gas pedal to the
floor even n brought a burning smell the other day I
go to drive it to the store it wouldn't go after I got to
the light nnoitnit into gear it moved a lil them didn't
wanna move at all

    My Jetta's clutch takes extremely high when released. Does a 2006 Jetta MK5 have a clutch cable or a hydraulic system? Can either be adjusted or bled to have the clutch take lower?

    pedal pulls all they way to the floor...can depress it and hold it and release it , it will pull back to the floor and not disengage...
