Clutch problem

Asked by 4x4man1218 Aug 17, 2017 at 06:57 PM about the 1999 Volkswagen Jetta GL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 vw Jetta and I put a new
clutch in at the beginning of the year and it
was fine. Then the one part for the shifting
cable broke and I fixed it but the clutch pedal
wouldn't go down and I pushed a little harder
and I heard a pop and now the pedal go's
down but won't go in gear. What could be the
problem?

look at the throw out bearing, it might of been put in cricked, not straight. that or the shifting cable wasn't fixed correctly, try jb weld or a medal rod that hooks directly to the shifter rode were it broke off, nagger rig it, everything I had to nigger rid, always worked the entire possession of the car. also you might want to disconnect the cable and look at it, it's probably broke inside plastic cover somewear. let me know if any of this works. renneefox45@outlook.com
