Jetta will not start after a battery change

I had to change the battery in my car and now it wont turn over but everything else works. I think it is the security and if it is what do i do to unlock it. I already unlocked the radio.

sound like a starter problem more than anything else

We changed the battery my husband thought it would fix it but it didn’t he then got diesel fuel thinking that the hoses had air and it still won’t start
