how do you fix the tailights in a 1999 chevrolet suburban?

I was driving home from work the day before yesterday and realized that my left blinker was going out. I went down to get the bulb, on my way there I realized that I had no lights in  the rear end of the car. The only light that did work in the rear was the brake light bar on top. I have changed the bulbs, checked the fuses, checked the relays. where do I go from here?

#1 check the wiring under the 'burb. Look for damage or contact with the exhaust. The next likely area is the junction point between the gas tank and the rear bumper where it splits to the lights and the trailer plug if equipped.
