gti not accelerating
I had my brake booster replaced due to a loud
hissing noise coming from the brake pedal. Now
that I have my car back the mechanic is telling me
that my turbo is about to go and that it was fill with
oil. I hear a whistling noise coming from the
passenger side and having trouble accelerating.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
If you had a hiss and had power before the repair and now the hiss (brake Booster) repaired but no power. This is not anywhere near related to oil in the turbo resulting in little power having anything to do with the brake booster. I believe your mechanics took it for a joy ride and blew it up and now want you to think it just happened because the booster was covering it up. The power loss is the result of oil in the turbo then if it went out before you took it to them then you would of noticed the loss of power beforehand so you would known there was an issue with power not to mention smoking too. This does not just happen on its own.
I Was thinking the same thing I totally didn't have a power issue before taking the car in for the new booster. They claim it could be the barons inside the booster or like some band that connects to the booster.
It has seals & rubber diaphragm/rubber gasket like this. The turbo has oil seals, it may can be rebuilt or replaced and all will be fine with the motor hopefully, I do not know the condition of the motor persay but it may not be a total loss.
Booster has a big spring. but either way they are clueless or hoping you are. The only way for oil to get in the turbo is threw the turbo oil seals & bearing bad or excessively worn out piston rings, causing blow-by gases passing through, not the brake booster.
