99 Malibu won't start
My 99 Malibu has all kinds problems the gauges
stop working sometimes the brake light and theft
light does same but yesterday was running fine
shut it off now it turns about one crack then
sounds like starter kicks out had starter tested it's
fine
I'd use a digital multimeter leads across battery posts, everything off. The generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Leave the leads touching battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, generally the reading shouldn't drop below 9 volts, If it drops way down there, then you need to get the battery charged. Also, check the battery connections. If the reading doesn't drop very far, then check for open circuit to the starter. The reading should drop some. If open circuit, check the ignition switch and neutral switch. Make sure the engine isn't seized by turning the crank by hand. Note the wiring diagram. My info says you have pass lock security system, has no control over starter motor, itself.
