You can go to the dealer or you can try to find someone with a VAG-COM. This is the software used to modify every settings in the computer of the VW and Audi vehicles.

If you look in the owners manual you can turn it of by twisting the trip counter button from left to right whilst turning the igition key in a certain sequence. It should then come on again in 10000 miles, its how a local garage can service your car without having to use a computer to reset it
