Trunk and gas latch in Cabrio 2002

Asked by Ofelia Nov 14, 2010 at 08:24 PM about the 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio 2 Dr GLX Convertible

Question type: General

I recently bought a 2002 Cabrio in very good condition. It came without the owners manual.
I have trouble to find the buttons to open electrically the trunk and the gasoline latch. where are they located.
I saw two small buttons in both doors depicting something that looks like a key and next to it a different picture I can't figure it out.
I touched both of them , but nothing happened, except for a buzzing noise on the back of the car.
I will appreciate your help.
Thanks, Ofelia

I worked on one once and if I remember correctly they are under the elbow rest behind the parking brake handle. It took me forever to find it too.

Frank, they are inside the small locking glove box behind the parking brake lever. That is so no one can open them if it’s locked.
