Just replaced fuel pump on 2000 cabrio still stalls at idle.

Asked by Adam Jul 06, 2013 at 05:50 PM about the 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio GL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We've been working on replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 VW Cabrio because it was
stalling at red lights. We replaced it and it still stalls at idle. What could be some common
issues that would stall at idle? We have some codes: P1472, P1500. We had misfire
codes but they resolved after clearing the computer and they haven't come back.  Please
help we're running out of money!

17880 P1472 EVAP Emission Contr.LDP Circ Short to Ground---- 17908 P1500 Fuel Pump Relay Circ. Electrical Malfunction ...well knowing this is all well and fine, but the fuel pressure regulator has a hose to it...be sure this hose is in place or you will have limited gasoline supply~
