1998 Volkswagen Cabrio

Asked by LaurenKH Jul 05, 2016 at 10:46 PM about the 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio 2 Dr GL Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I bought this car a couple months ago
and the check engine light came on and I
had the code ran and it said mass air flow
sensor so I replaced it. It came on again a
few days later and it says it's the same
thing. All they say it to have it reset again
but I've done that twice now and it doesn't
seem to be working. What could this be? I
don't know anything about cars so I have
absolutely no idea what to do.

A DTC code for the MAF does NOT mean there is a problem with the MAF sensor it mearly indicates the circuit voltage and or signal is not within parameters on the computer map. Locate someone who understands engine control systems and drive ability diagnostics. This is not difficult to locate and correct.
