I have a 1999 Chevy Cavalier Z24 and a 2003 Cavalier base 2,2L they both have 3speed with overdrive are they interchangable?

They should be the same trans., but maybe a call to your local Chevy dealer will confirm this. I know, the 2.4L engines changed in mid '99, as they eliminated the EGR valve that was on the '97-'99 engines, but 1999 cars with a "T" in the 8th number of the vin, were EGR engines & the same as the '97's. I'm unaware that they changed the tranny's, but again, I'm not 100% sure, just 99% sure they are the same.
