Check the life or your battery. Look for the indicator on the top. If it's a maintenence free battery, you'll find the indicator on the top of it. If the color of the indicator is green, your battery was still good. If it's red, well too coz you need to replace your battery. Try to charge your battery using the battery charger. As you said, you try to jump it then it start right? If u disconnect the jumper cable then the engine still it means the problem is in your battery. But if the engine will stop running as you disconnect the jumper, it means you need check your alternator. Coz your alternator needs to repair. maybe need to replace the carbon brass or the IC.
