Does anyone know how safe the 79 or 80 corollas are compared to other cars of the time, and to today

or where i can find safety info

they are not too safe very thin metal like chevettes. fun though rwd probably 22r motor eh rev to like 6-6.5 all in all they are safe on a 1-10 scale depending on the condition im guessing about a 4. 4.8 depending on what you hit reliable and fun!

Compared to other cars of that time... Corollas are well built because they are still running... whereas most 20 year old cars are not... That being said. In 79, most American cars were made of straight steel. Heavier. Stronger on impact/demolition derby type crashes. However, the Corolla is the #1 selling car of all time in worldwide sales because a). It has a lasting heritage-- better than Honda Civic or VW beetle; b). It is in more countries that any other car. c). In 3rd world countries, some vehicles must last multiple generations as a hand me down... that is what Corolla was designed to be.
