Car battery dying overnight but battery and alternator are good. Electrical problem associated with alarm and door locking system

Asked by TasChevy Nov 06, 2018 at 02:33 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can’t figure out how my car alarm and door
locking sensors are draining my battery
overnight. Can you help?

1 Answer

Just figured it out. The mechanic noticed there was an after market alarm system installed and they didn’t wire it up well enough so through time the wires lost the connection and a Short was draining the battery. I took out the crappy alarm installation and all works great again.
