1989 4 cylinder Toyota Camry

Yes my daughter just bought a 4cylinder Toyota Camry, the
car starts up fine but when she drives it for a time of 20-30
minutes and she comes to a stop, the car dies. She waits
for about a minute or two then it starts up fine again but
when she puts into drive and about ten minutes into the
drive the car quits again. She knows her cars pretty well,
but she is frustrated on this one, what could be the reason
for this? I know back I'm the days they used to have the fuel
filters that could be changed out easily, and I am wondering
if that would be the problem or could it be the fuel pump?

Indeed....could be the FP...and or Fuel Filter. A fuel pressure test is in order. Is the CEL on when the engine is running?

If it was a fuel filter or pump it would no start or fail immediately. Sounds like the car is having issues once it has come up to temperature. Look into vacuum loss or vapor lockup
