I would say to check for electrical power first. Did you check all fuses to see if one is blown ? If not, check to see if the wiring harness to the door switch (assuming you have only tried to raise them from the drivers door) has separated. Before taking the driver's door panel off, I would think there would be an "override sensor" (sensor that over rides the door window operation switch, to keep the back windows from going up at the wrong time while raising or lowering the roof) is separated from its wiring connection, burned out or just broken. If I'm not mistaken don't the windows drop a little just before the top retracts into the body ? Did that switch break or just finally break ?

On the SL's there is a function to "synchronize" all the windows when this happens. I would expect the SLK's have a similar function. You will find the details in the manual under "synchronizing the power windows"

Hold both window switches together (at same time) to close windows. Continue holding the switches for about 3 to 5 seconds after both windows have closed. Release the switches. That will synchronize both windows.

It sounds like a relay or switch has failed. Probably not unusual for 14 yr. old car. You could spend a fortune in time and money trying to find it. Suggestion: Pay an MB dealer to diagnose and identify the problem - probably an hour labor charge. Because they will know exactly where to look for the problem. Then, go to a trusted independent mechanic to get it fixed. An independent dealer will probably have a labor and parts charge considerably lower than that of MB.

Pay a Mercedes Dealer? That is your answer? !! Do you think the guy comes here to hear that? It will cost him a grand to ask to talk to the service manager.
