hesitation

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At fast execeleration engine hesitates badly; this condition can also be duplicated with engine running at fast idle (4000rpm) in park. This problem was notice shortly after a battery cable became loose and sparked upon starting. Compresser seems to be working fine even durring hesitation. Engine idles smoothly and runs fine in normal driving conditions but if I have to get out of someones way, that can be trouble. Engine light will come on if kept at the trouble spot.

You're going to have to take this to a dealership to have the stored codes pulled. It sounds a bit like a spark plug is misfiring under load. Could also be a throttle position sensor or even an ignition coil/module.
