Where is the fuel pump located on a 2000 SL500

I have read that it is somewhere underneath a plastic cover in front of a rear wheel (unknown which one) but no pictures or detailed information.

Under the car near the left rear wheel. Look for either 1 or 2 silver cans with black hoses attached.may have a black plastic cover over them.
