Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There’s a switch on my shift console,  it says W and S.  I thought it may be
winter and summer but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
Can anyone tell me its function? Thanks

"W", (winter), should be engaged when encountering slippery road conditions. While in the "W" mode the transmission will start out in 2nd gear when "D" is selected. This should help eliminate wheel slippage. Also, when moderate or less throttle is applied, the transmission will shift into the next higher gear at a lower engine speed (r.p.m.).

Thanks! I’ve owned the car since 2012 and now I know that function. Awesome!
