Wiring resistance too high, alternator activation circuit faulty or alternator control computer is bad causing the alternator to burn out. You may wind up at a Mercedes dealer to get it properly checked out.

Replaced the alternator twice, It could also mean you have a earth leakage, or cluster malfunction, or electrical malfunction. let me know.
