How do I reset security light on dash

I just rebuilt the Top end of the 3.1 in my chev lumina and I had every thing unplugged and I've got it all back
together and the security light came on and it whont crank over but I can jump the b+ and the exciter wirers on the
starter and it will start but the light still stays on

The security light is usually related to the chip on your ignition key. If it won't crank with the key, might be that something got unprogrammed in the process of the rebuilt. I would take it to a shop where they program the keys to discard this possibility.
