My car wont change gears when Im driving

Hi,

I hope someone can help me.

I have a Mercedes Benz CLK320.

I jump started my friends car yesterday and today my car does not change gears when
its driving. It still starts though when I put it into drive the car does not shift gears.

I went to check the battery out and they said the battery is weak and needs replacing.
( I am hoping this is the only thing id need to do)

Please help.
