I have a 2004 mercedes benz c230 kompressor sport, recently the check engine light came on and the car is sputtering, rough idle, poor acelleration

My car's engine light came on and the car is running sluggish, sputtering with poor
acceleration. I turn the engine off and turned back on and the car runs beautifully but
then it starts to sputtering again! I took it to Autzone and did a diagnostic on it, at first it
was saying that #1,2,3 spark plug was misfiring and the computer was not responding.
They told me to go home and unhook the battery for about 2minutes, I did and the car
was running like new but later on that day it was back doing the same thing as before,
the computer isn't responding and spark plugs 123 are misfiring. What could cause this
malfunction?????? I desperately need your help :-(

The coil packs, on these act up like that,usually can be solved by shutting car off and cranking back up,this reset,s the ecm,the coil pack,s get,s a signal to produce more fire,for more speed,this is usally when the problem occur,s,go have the coil pack,s ohm tested,and you may have to replace then to solve this issue.

I am having the exact same problem and have the exact same car. Was there any solution to this issue? Do we know for sure it was the coil packs? What are your thoughts on the many solutions I have heard on message boards: oil needs to be changed, battery replaced if older than 7 years, Brake light sensor replace, ABS wheel sensor, ABS module, and steering angle sensor.....are any of these related?

Same problem I had and was told it was the throttle body. Specifically that it wasn't " stacking". To first try cleaning and if no change then replace.
