how to remove cover under windshield wiper arms on 2003 c240? trying to replace heater hose quick disconnect mounted on heat shield

my heater hose popped off at quick disconnect, female plastic end separated from male end and leaked engine coolant. hose is located at left rear of engine compartment between heat shield and firewall.

The video shows exactly what I was failing to disassemble, I needed to pull battery and frame for cabin filter prior to removing rain dam. Thanks
